Sitting for my ASP December 12, when should I start studying?
I have two SPAN workbooks from 2019 to help prep for the exam. The format of the books is just a bunch of practice questions. Curious how much time I should give myself to study (assuming ~20-30 minutes per day) - any advice there?
Also - anything I can do other than the study books to prep?

Originally I was on the ASP to CSP road, before switching gears and going after the SMS instead. When I was getting ready for my ASP exam, I was studying (doing practice tests) from probably the same SPAN prep books for about 30-45 minutes a day. Anytime I would come across a question that I didn't know the answer right away, I would research. After just spending 3 days at the BCSP office serving on their SMS writing panel, I have a new appreciation for these types of tests.
Good luck David!!!

There is saying about trees. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is today.
You should have started 6 months before the test but you should start today.
There is a lot of technical information on the ASP test. Because of the breadth of the information, you are going to find areas where you are weak and may need to spend a large amount on certain subject. Take a practice exam and figure your weak spot and focus on them.
Even though they say they will provide formulas, not every question has the formula.

6 months prior to the exam. Best bet for most adult learners. Also, there’s really interesting research on the physical size of the materials you review and the memorization of those materials. I recommend incorporating writing out your materials/study/equations/etc. on a white board or something similar. Make it large and do your review.
