Consulting Question
If you were to review an environmental engineering company's safety plan, should the safety information inside be based on 1910?
Tasks are office work, construction materials testing, and inspections, so I don't think 1926 would apply, but I wanted to ask others their thoughts.

Correct. They would fall under general industry (1910) since nothing is being constructed, demolished, or otherwise drastically improved.

I would lean towards 1910. However, I think it depends in what sandbox they play in! I would think that if they are dealing with a 1926 Client I think they have to use that at least in part. To be honest I flat out run away from Environmental! A lot of it is science and that is just not my bag!

Are you auditing them out doing field work? Sounds like 1910, but if their consulting on major construction jobs (stromwater runoff stuff, etc) it might flirt with 1926.

I agree with all of the folks saying 1910, but their safety plan should specify what standards they’re holding themselves to, so that a person like yourself who is reading it doesn’t have to guess.
