Peeps w/hazard reporting processes - gimme your “best” one
Week 2 for me in my new role/company, and so far my fave, & 100% the best misuse of the near-miss/hazard reporting system was someone reporting that a raccoon was within the fence..
Of the like, 60 acres we have fenced. And our plant is in a rural area. 🥴🦝 It was a near miss since, “An altercation may have occurred.”
Tbh I’m pretty bummed I didn’t get to see the cute fellow myself!

😂😂😂 can’t make this up! At my first job someone put in a near miss after we had new LEDs put in saying they were too bright

Where I work we have bears, coyotes, marmots, chipmunks, squirrels, hawks, eagles, and mountain lions. Haven't seen any trash pandas. We actually have wildlife safety training because of this. Of course, couple months back, one of workers tried to pet a marmot. One trip to the urgent care for a bite in his finger.

So not gonna lie, had to google Marmot, and this is what I found, LOL not a first thought to pet one..........

When I first started with the City of Gillette (WY) and after leaving the surface coal mines where I worked for 10 years, my first five incidents really had me shaking my head:
1. Community Service officer backed into a post in pickup
2. Solid Waste operator ran over a fire hydrant
3. During K9 training, the K9 struck the officer's knee
4. Officer backed into a dumpster with his patrol vehicle
5. Building maintenance employee struck a police vehicle while plowing sidewalks
Some of the other ones that make me shake my head:
1. Upon trying to capture a "running at large" cat inside Walmart, the officer reached under the clothes rack to try to capture the cat and the cat made swiss cheese of his hand and forearm.
2. While looking at his tablet, the officer noticed the next callout "Active shooter - shotgun" and took his attention off the road and rear-ended a Senior Center van (luckily there was only the driver in the van).
3. High winds blew a portable basketball hoop over and the rim entered/shattered the rear window of his patrol vehicle.
4. Officer found a friendly wandering dog in the City Hall parking and when the officer tried to load him in the back of his patrol vehicle the dog bit him.
5. Officer tried to make a u-turn and struck the passenger tire on the offside curb popping the tire and damaging the rim.
Most days...I'm left SMH at some of the incidents that cross my desk.
