Fall protection annual inspections, performed in house or outsourced?
I can see benefits to either approach but curious to hear what you guys do for your annual fall protection inspection - doing the inspections in house or outsourced?
We normally outsource and I have no complaints with the approach 😂

In-house as long as you're qualified and/or competent (depending on type of equipment). Just keep in mind it has to be someone other than the user.

In-House.
Maybe if the equipment is used very infrequently I would have someone come in for inspection. However, if that was the case, I think I would urge management to use contractors from the outside to do whatever work was needed with PFPS, as our people would not have the proficiency to safely use and inspect the equipment.
Most anyone that has proficiency and lots of experience in using personal fall protection systems can be easily taught PFPS inspection, in my opinion.
