Are you guys excepting a bigger raise this year?
Obviously inflation is pretty nuts right now and just about everything is more expensive. Is everyone expecting a bigger than normal raise this year? Anyone approaching management about potentially getting paid a bit more to account for inflation?
Just curious what the general approach and expectation on this is from the EHS perspective

Probably the same but maybe a COL adjustment.

Not expecting any raise at all

I now have 100% control on my raise! For 41 years that was in the hands of someone else. When I retired almost 5 years ago, I started my won business and not am the CEO to Janitor and everything in between! If i want to buy a toy now, I buy it. Since it is not "our' money I do not even have to ask! I decided for Christmas last year, all my employees could buy one gift of their choice. This employee wanted a 24' Bar Professional Grade Husky Chain Saw (6 hp). I had Rancher and Home grade saws but wanted a pro. So I bought it! Love it. I am the only employee so I only had to buy one saw be it that it costs twice as much as my largest Rancher! I am up to 5 saws now. I am thinking I am going to buy myself a Pro Limbing saw, maybe 16"- 18" bar, and give a Home grade saw to my son in-law! I will never buy anything less than Farm and Ranch Grade, but love these Pro models!
A bigger question is to I raise prices to my customers. I am struggling with that one!

I would like to have but it will be difficult to have adjustments…
I work for the federal government, so there’s a non-zero percent chance of a pay raise…From news reports, maybe around 4%-5%.
It’s not a “sure thing” and will be well-below inflation, but I’ll appreciate every cent.
The company I currently employed with, the Regional EHS Manager has asked for EHS across the board to receive a 8-10% increase of their base salaries. This is due to the fact that they have lost nearly 10 EHS personnel to higher paying jobs of recently. I personally think it is a great move. Those of us left, hope it passes/gets approved. If not, I guess they will loose one more.
