Free standing anchor points - thoughts on them?
Anyone here actually used one of these portable free standing anchor points? They seem super convenient for roofs, but I guess I question if they would actually arrest a fall. Just curious to get some feedback from the group in these.

We use them...I've never hooked on and jumped off a roof, but if you follow the instructions I'm confident they would work.
I've seen them more used for fall restraint rather than fall arrest since you can usually attach 2 people for restraint, compared to 1 for arrest applications. There's lots of variations out there that work.
As long as you follow manufacturer’s instructions, they should be good to go.
That being said, using these for restraint is always better than using them for fall arrest! 1000lb anchor strength requirement vs a 5k lb. 👌
Used roofing contractors who weren't familiar with the "new" (read: not new in 2018) Subpart D. Explained it to them and this ended up being their solution. I was satisfied and fortunately did not need to test their effectiveness.
