Salary Expectations
Let's say your job duties (general industry) included:
Owning all EHS-related responsibilities for 4 buildings (500 employees)
Maintaining ISO certifications for those company buildings
Traveling for a week at a time to support other facilities
Managing hazardous waste profile for large quantity generator (multiple wet labs also)
0 direct reports
In this scenario, how much do you feel you should make annually, living in a moderately high cost of living area?

Essentially what this person is doing is managing an EHS Program that takes skill and knowledge and probably some years of experience. That said it will also depend on where the job is located , bigger cities higher cost of living, higher wages. Its not always the job title that defines the job, it is the tasks that define it. Take my job title Safety Coordinator I do not coordinate anything, I manage a complete EHS program with PSM, LOTO, Confined Space Rescue, Emergency Response, Hazardous Materials and more, in most organizations it would not be a coordinator title. In my organization it is due to whatever reasons. So look at the tasks a person performs and not just the title. This job as illustrated above describes a Safety Manager position, so the pay should be adequate as a starting base salary in a small to mid size company. More than 105 for a large company would definitely be in range. It also depends on the level of certifications and experience.
I appreciate this question and in no way am I discounting it with the following answer........ This question has so many variables involved with the answer. My dad always told me as a kid to never worry about the money, always deliver high value and the money will come........ I have found this to be very true in my 30+ year career in the chemical industry.

Def 105 plus, and in my opinion anyone in EHS with 8-10 years in, should be making at least that

Good poll!! Do you have any certs or a degree at all? That may impact what you could get as well. From what it sounds like this position carries quite a bit of responsibility- I would shoot for >$105k, but that’s just me
I’ve been here before. I wouldn’t settle for anything less than $100k, especially since there’s travel
A side comment: Based on my 2020 job search I observed that salaries for EHS positions vary widely company to company. A multilingual EHS Manager position at one location may pay less than a solely environmental or safety position at another. This may be partly due to complexity differences in different industries, or maybe due to how different companies perceive the pay grade for the position? I live in the Los Angeles area and often didn't see the local, high cost of living reflected in the salary (my opinion). I know this doesn't help the original posting, but if i could I would vote that they're isn't a good answer for what you are asking. You need to decide how much you need to earn to maintain a standard of living that you set, and target that number. Or just find a job you enjoy and live within the salary.
