Industrial Hygiene vs Occ. Safety
Team - thinking about going back to school for my masters. I am set up for industrial hygiene. Graduated with OSH. What are the benefits of each?

Love that you said team, because that’s what we are 🥰 I think it probably depends on your interests. I feel like industrial hygiene is more engineering heavy, so if that’s what you’re into I would chase that. I’m not the most experienced in either track so I’m probably not the best person to ask, but that’s my observation

I agree with David. IH is more numbers and engineering heavy….but it’s awesome. IMO it’s the hardest to learn so if you get a great education in IH it helps open the door to all other disciplines.

I’m a fan of IH! It is a great field if you like math and basic engineering, chemistry concepts. Lots of NIOSH ERCs provide amazing financial incentive (stipends, scholarship, and research assistant positions). You can find those positions for safety too.
