Safety Appreciation - 6/12/21
Instead of the traditional Spot the Citation, I thought I’d share some safety appreciation. This photo shows workers painting the Eiffel Tower in 1932. What do you see in this photo that would be different in 2021? Are there any aspects of this work we still struggle with in industry of construction?

This is giving me anxiety. Can we photoshop some harnesses on them?

I sure hope there would be some harnesses and scaffolding put up.
Seeing the tower in person and knowing truly how high up those employees are gives me some anxiety as well!

Looking at that photo its amazing that only one death took place during the construction of the tower.

These pictures from this time in history always amaze me! What these workers were willing to do. Unfortunately in that day workers were expendable. Thank god we do not still operate this way and thank god for continued innovation and technology to help make these types of jobs safer all the time.
