Retaliation Laws
We all know that OSHA has an anti-retaliation clause. How does that legality apply to safety managers - everything we do is reporting a safety concern. What protections does that provide us from the management within our own companies?

We are not direct supervisors of the people on the manufacturing floor. They supervisors are in charge of their people & influence their behavior by being their boss. As safety people, we don’t retaliate people for reporting safety incidents. We may discipline them if they blatantly broke a safety rule- but that’s not retaliation. We ours self as safety people could be retaliated against by the General Manager. & we could report that to OSHA! You’d probably have to have some good evidence though. Example: we reported something & then we didn’t get that promotion that was promised to us.
