
Department safety coordinators
Does anyone implement this? At my first job we offered a $0.50 differential for employees willing to take on this role. They handled small EHS deliverables (inspections, walkthroughs, light trainings).
What do you guys think of the safety coordinator assignment and who else does it?

I do have Safety Champions on my Safety team which go beyond the safety team however we give out prizes such as 100 dollars and a Yeti mug with company logo on it.

I like the idea, but my argument would be "Why am I paying someone $0.50 more per hour, if I'm already paying you $50,000 a year to be a full time safety coordinator.
We've done a little work in this regard. It takes a lot of work to keep the coordinators engaged. We saw value in it, but leadership (outside EHS) was not as committed so it never took root like I wanted.
