CDC acknowledged coronavirus often spreads through aerosols. What’s the significance?
I saw quite a bit of buzz this morning on the CDC updating their COVID transmission blurb to acknowledge that COVID primarily spreads via aerosols.

1) I thought we already knew this (hence why we wear face masks)
2) How does the updated definition change the way people handle the pandemic

I bet if most companies already have a set COVID procedure, this doesn't change much for them. They'll probably continue most of their cleaning exercises and if taking temps/conducting screening, those as well.
The main concern I see coming is when flu season arrives. People are going to have similar symptoms and we won't be able to separate the two, at least not without testing.

I know there has been a lot of aerosol related testing in the IH community over the past couple months, I think that this CDC publication is just confirming the validity of all these tests. As far as how this will impact you - probably not much.
