High Vis Vests
Its always been a best practice to wear high visibility vests at every job I had, even before I was in the safety business but in your humble opinion, are they really necessary or do you know if they are really required by any OSHA ruling?
( I need resources to educate some folks, "the just because it makes sense" or "its a bests practice", its not going so well with a couple team members) :)
Thank you!

What industry are you in? I think it makes sense for construction, but not necessarily manufacturing (depending on the work environment)

Maybe this will help?

They also make sense in a warehouse type environment where forklift traffic is involved

typically, hi vis vests are used on construction sites, along with hard hat and steel toes. on projects covered under the Federal Highway Administration requires the use of hi-vis vests for flagger and persons working around heavy equipment. the requirement to wear hi vis other than highway is covered under the general duty clause of osha, wherein if the employer determines a hazard requiring hi vis then it is required.
