Trade Association Founds Safety Committee

Eight years ago, this month, I was named the first chair of the Safety Subcommittee for my client, the Brewers Association. It has been eight years of intense work and intensely gratifying work, but it is all volunteer. Three years after we started, the BA selected me as their Safety Ambassador, and I've been under contract ever since.

My advice to anyone looking to connect with people, learn stuff, and advance professionally is to *volunteer*. If you are serious and make useful contributions, people will see the value in that and you'll be rewarded. It doesn't always have to be about the money.
